Sorcerers Initiation: Zelator’s Wisdom (Talisman of Ten Thousand Eyes)

Shaping Rituals:

Inner Eye: The sorcerer may hone her senses through the talisman to open her inner eye, paying a point of Willpower whenever she makes an Awareness roll to Join Battle or notice a hidden threat while wearing the talisman. She gains one sorcerous mote for every two successes on this roll. These motes last for the duration of the scene, and can be spent towards any spell she casts. If she is joining battle against or searching out malevolent sorcerous forces—enemy sorcerers, bound demons, strange beings created by sorcery—she also adds her Occult in bonus dice to the roll.

Born and raised in the Migi District of Hakura, Relentless Vanguard joined the Scouts at the earliest age possible. The talented martial artist was often noted for both her calm and collected presence in the face of stress or danger and her lighthearted humor at the dangers that the Scouts faced outside of the city walls. Devoted to Amara and deeply in love with Echoing Glorious Morning, Vanguard had a good life. .

The death of her husband while she was out on a supply run caused a marked change in the Scout, however, and for a period of two years she seemed to stoically exist only for her duties as a Scout and as Commander of the Lucky Thirteen. Only one incident during this time caused a deviation from her patterns, when the sight of an actual Fair Folk during a battle with behemoths caused a sudden reckless shift in her plan of attack. Despite the danger, Vanguard viciously pursued the raksha personally when it tried to slip away, finally barely felling it with the assistance of one of the city’s sorcerers.

Following the death of one of the Thriced Blessed Goddess’ oracles and a mysterious prophecy, Relentless Vanguard was part of a closed-door meeting with the Wise Eyed Patrician and the city goddess. Afterwards, with the blessing of the Scout Commander, she and the Lucky Thirteen left the city of Hakura. After a nasty run-in with some bandits, they met Subdued Summer, and the Fox and Hound inns became the base of operations for the displaced Hakurans. The Thirteen support themselves with hired work, sending supplies and news back to Hakura frequently, but when questioned on when they might return, Vangaurd only replies that they are still waiting for fate to bring them what they need.
